How to Attempt CUET Question Paper

Learn to Utilise the Buttons Properly

When the CUET question paper begins, below each question, you are going to see these four buttons-

Now, here we will elaborate on using each button and also give tips on using them correctly to save time while solving your CUET question paper:

1. Save and Next—When you know the answer and do not want to miss seeing it again, click the save and next button. This will automatically save your response and move you to the next question.
2. Clear Response- If you want to change your response, answer or untick it, this is one way. While there is another way where you can directly click on the response again to untick it or simply click on another response, the tick marker will automatically shift to the new one.
3. Save and Mark for Review—This button becomes crucial when attempting subjects containing numerical questions; try to use it when unsure about the answers and want to review them again. While attempting numerical-based questions, you will have significantly less time to solve them, so saving the response and then marking it for review will help you even if you do not review the answers at the end.
4. Mark for Review and Next—Use this button when attempting theory-based questions. Do not respond, and move to the next question if unsure about the options. In a theory-based exam, you will have sufficient time to review the left-out questions and efficiently respond to them at the end.

Try to use 'Save and mark for Review' more for numerical-based questions and less for theory-based questions. The same goes for 'Mark for Review and Next'; use it more for theory-based questions and less for numerical-based questions.

While attempting the exam, whenever you save the response or leave it for review, the left side of the panel, where the questions appear, will change. But there will be a panel at the right where you will see all the question's serial numbers. You can click on any number to be taken directly to the corresponding question. While you have read all the instructions, you might have noticed that particular instructions are missing from the CUET Mock Test's exam page. For your convenience, these are the instructions that were provided but were missing in the paper-

Now, the first one shows these ">" & "<" arrows, which were supposed to be present on the fixed Question Palette but were missing in the mock test. However, it will be present in the actual CUET 2026 exam and will be used to hide the Question Palette to better view the questions. The opposite can be done with the other arrow, unhide the Question Palette.

The second one will let you change the language if you are having difficulty with the current language. An icon will show your profile in the top-right corner; clicking on it will reveal the option to change the language.

The last one shows two navigation buttons: one on the top right and the other on the bottom right. If a longer question exceeds the page limit, these buttons can be used to scroll down or up.
